The Stones of Stenness are one of a group of monuments that make up the ‘Heart of Neolithic Orkney’ world heritage site. Perched on the edge of the Loch of Stenness the stones, dated 3100 – 2900 BC maybe the earliest henge monument in the British Isles, predating both Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids. Images are based on location drawings made in Orkney in 2023.
